Big Blue Marble

Product Details I know that Earth day is not until the twenty second of this month, I am still writing early because a lot of my blogger friends are parents and grandparents of young children. It will be nice if we talk to our little ones about how nice our planet is. There are several sites that we can go on and find projects for kids to do. Pinterest has over four hundred different pictures pertaining to Earth Day and www.ecologyprojects.org /Earth_ Day has a lot of learning material. It will be nice if children understand the value of saving endangered species of animals as well as the value of saving resources. I am thankful towards a lot of my blogger friends who are constantly writing about nature and about the good things in this Earth of ours. "Run around Ranch", "Positive Letters", "Mariette's Back to Basics" and "Flea Market Girl" are a few of  the blogs that are examples of people's observation of good things on our Earth and of how amazing nature and natural resources can be. Also a lot of bloggers who work hand in hand with Etsy shops are doing a great job of being creative and proving to the rest of us how easy it is to use and not waste resources that are given to us. My husband and I are doing our share of recycling by just shampooing our carpet instead of getting new because I know that the people who will install the new carpet are going to just throw away the old one. My son told me that I do not have to be a closet environmentalist any more because it is an "in" thing to be green.

you are sweet. thanks for the mention and kindness. :)

you're right about how much we do tend to waste here in the US. it is something we have to be more conscious of.

I would like to be able to afford one of the new electric cars like a Tesla. I think that would make a big impact on the environment for me.

What a wonderful post. Yes, I too with my etsy shop believe in reusing old and throw away items to recycle into something useful once again.
Even most of my furniture has been painted into something new instead of buying new. We can all do our part to preserve nature and yes teaching children is important to care for the environment.
Have a wonderful week.
Hugs, CM

I am glad you reminded us early - now I can plan to do something instead of letting it get past me!

You are absolutely right! We need to save this beautiful heritage for our next generations to enjoy. It is so good to know that more and more people are aware about our environment. I am pleased to note that our children are taught in schools about conserving the earth.

I always enjoy reading your posts.

A big hug, Drora

Munir... it is the in thing to be an environmentalist... I always aspire to do better, I have a ways to go. I do teach Valentina about the importance and luckily she is taught this in school.

I think it sad how many animals have become extinct and near extinction just since I was a young girl... we need to do better to save them xox

Thank you so much for dropping by my blog, have a lovely rest of the week xox

I'm glad Earth Day was invented. It's a good chance to think about taking care of our planet.

Only one day a year to remember to be kind to Mother Earth! Recycling is an everyday thing in this household. Spring cleaning time now. All our cast offs go to groups that want hand-me-downs. Shopping at the consignment store also is a good way to save money and reuse things that still have life in them!

Dear Munir,

A poignant reminder of our fragile planet, our beleaguered planet that asks for us to understand the balance of nature.

Kind of you to make note of all those fine bloggers.

Every day should be Earth Day.

In kindness and hope,

Gary :)

I love what your son said! I try to be pretty green. I love that where we moved does recycling each week. They even give us a big garbage can for trash to be recycled in and then we use bags for yard waste. I recycled before, but it was a lot of work. I had to sort everything into bins then take the bins to dumpsters and no one in my family seemed to know how to sort, so they put the recycle items on the kitchen counter until they magically disappeared. (me) This system is so much easier.

Dearest Munir,
Thank you for your visit and comment and even more so for mentioning my humble blog here!
Well, we have had some hectic weeks and even this week, with our dear friend staying with us from The Netherlands.
You are so right about the environment and people at times are way too quick for discarding things; adding only to the landfill etc.
When we got our new aluminum roof in aged copper we were thrilled that it was going to be put on over the old one; zero for the landfill! Good feeling for the environment and double insulation too, like wearing an over coat.
I've finally after all my surgeries and rehab, managed to clean the entire home before our friend arrived. Feeling mighty proud of course that I've come that far again. But I did not manage to visit other blogs as I would love to. Had several scheduled posts lined up so I did not have to worry about that.
Sending you hugs and blessings,
Mariette
