A to Z Challenge
A TO Z OF RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
We need to look forward to progress and aspire for modern things to improve our standard of living therefore we need to build something stronger than rain barrels to save and conserve water. This was the message that got the citizens of Hyderabad to agree to let their taxes fund the reservoir at Tank Bund.
While the reservoir got a lot of visitors both from within and outside the state and created businesses and revenue, a lot of people used to be happy that we got the respect that our city deserved. I have always been very proud of my birth place but I think that our respect comes from within us. We need to earn and deserve it. Therefore while the city gave a lot of importance to the looks so it can project an image of a rich city, I think that when it comes to our own finances we should spend within our means so we don't get broke in the hope of getting respect from the rich.

I agree Munir, we do need to spend within our means so that we don't go broke in hope of getting respect from anyone :)
And that is a lesson that should be taught, no drilled in us all, from our earliest times.
A good lesson. Everyone needs to live within their means. It is a lot easier said than done since it always seems that we could use this or that.
The Hyderabadi reservoire looks beautiful
Yes and yes! Thanks for this reminder. Thanks also for coming by my blog this morning and leaving your sweet comments!
This is a good lesson for all of us. It's so easy to lose track of what's important.

Oh we used to live in one of a group of lovely homes surrounding our city's reservoir. I could walk out the back door and go a short distance to feed the ducks. It was a favorite place for people to drive around and picnic. Haven't thought of it in years.
A great lesson.
That's a hard lesson, but true: "We need to earn and deserve it."

Greece could take a few lessons from you guys.
Why have I only just found this? I've been to your othe blog, wondering why you haven't been posting. Now I see that you've been busy here! Very thoughtful, and informative.
So very true, Munir! And it causes such problems when people spend up to, and beyond their limit. The quality of life sure does go down.
Beautiful photo. :-)
It is pretty to look at, but you are right.
Hi Munir .. somewhere I have some video footage of my grandfather and his sons (not my father) visit Hyderabad .. as he was the engineer appointed to look after it - I don't know exactly what he was appointed as - but the British were still involved in lots of engineering projects in the 1920s ...
Thought you'd like to know!! Everything's packed at the moment ... but his 2nd son before he died a couple of years ago at 96 less one day! talked to me about it and I made some notes .. he was stone deaf ... so it was a little tricky!!!!! Cheers Hilary
