Calm Waters , Relaxed Earth

I was dozing off on the living room sofa as usual when I woke up to these words, "Sea of Green! Coming up next." So I sit up afraid about what they are going to say next. To my relief they were talking about Saint Patrick's Day Parades in various parts of Westchester County and Manhattan.
"Phew," I wanted to go back to my nap, but no such luck. The parade's bagpipes and heels tapping was followed by the death toll and missing numbers of people in Japan. I know, I feel miserable about not being able to do anything to help console people who lost loved ones or sooth people who are worried. So now if anyone is reading my blog and have loved ones in Japan, my heart goes out for you guys and my prayers are with your loved ones.
Someone left soothing words on my post and that helped a lot. Also, my husband and I got to video chat with our son in Hawaii. He told me that we cannot live in fear and not progress. We just have to learn from our mistakes and improve and improvise. I think that it is a good strategy.
So Governor Cuomo is meeting up with Fed officials to make sure that Indian Point is safe and if not find out how we can make it safe. It is now sitting on Ramapo Fault. I thought that a fault is a place where there are chances of Earthquakes. Some people say the right now that part of Earth is relaxed. My son says that some people think that the Waters in Hawaii are kind of Calm. I say how do we know if thinks will not change? It is nature, we don't know when it will unleash it's wrath. My son tells me to stop being afraid.

Thoughts are energy and energy is powerfully creative. It is my understanding (from my own life experiences) that there are two possible energies emanating from our thoughts: fear and love. So yes, if you can, try to trade up your fear thoughts for thoughts based in love and faith. Focus on beauty and hope where you can. This is how we all really can make a difference. Just like the song, "let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me..."

It's not easy, but it is true. Take a breath. Seek reasons to be joyous and add to the collective ah. :) Who knows, maybe our thoughts are mother nature's fuel?

In the meantime, here's a big hug for you.

We can only change and help so much, what we cannot, we shouldn't worry about. Just doing our small part and being brave is the best we can do.

I know someone who moved to North Carolina to get away from the earthquakes in California. The first year she was there a terrible hurricane hit the coast where she lived.
One summer, the mountains around the city we live in had a firestorm. Houses burned down and exploded; they couldn't put it out and it burned for weeks. I think anything can happen anywhere, so why worry ahead of time.

Munir,
Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog; it was so nice of you to visit and I hope you return.
I read a few blogs back to get the essence of your circumstances. The situation is truly devastating in Japan and I continue to pray for them daily. I am happy to hear your son is safe and he speaks the truth; we can not live in fear. Whether it is a natural disaster, illness or being hit by a car, our lives will end and the best we can do is to live each day to its fullest and know we have lived an enriched life.
I pray for positive energy and peace within...

I try really hard not to live in fear and ask myself how I would act/react differently if I was not fearful. What has occurred in Japan has been terrifying and leaves me feeling helpless. I try to take deep breaths and count my blessings. I think when your children are envolved, like you, the worry meter tends to go in overdrive. Wishing you peace
